This is the first map of the 01_Ostwall 1944 chapter, included in the Operation Apocalypse mod. The map was originally created by Wespex graphically, but heavily edited and scripted by kaoz.

Map walkthrough
This map is balanced in such a manner that if the player does nothing, the enemy/AI will win. It will demand a lot of work and micro-management. At first, you might experience it being very hard, but making it easier, would give the enemy/AI less chance to win.
The map starts with an immediate heavy enemy attack on all your front lines and eventually, it will be impossible to hold these. In the back, preparing your defenses should be a top of the list concern. The enemy/AI will win if it succeeds to reach one of the two bridges in the back. Dig trenches, lay mines and put your army in the best position to hold off the enemy from trying to reach these bridges.
The trick in this map, is to delay the enemy/AI attack to buy more time to build up your defenses. Pull back the most useful units from the front and use some soldiers to delay. Shelling the enemy will make a huge difference, so start doing that immediately and reposition if necessary. Delaying soldiers can distract the attacking units and you keep sight over them for your artillery.
After the attack and all your reinforcements have landed, you will need to retake the entire map.
